I’ve used RSync for years as my primary backup tool. It’s excellent for mirroring directories and ensuring that backups are made headache-free. I often attach the RSync commands to cron jobs and have them execute on a regular basis. I sometimes have it email me the results, though I usually just pipe the output to file.
Like many great tools in Linux, RSync has a myriad of command line options, some of which can be quite confusing.
I’ve recently discovered a very pretty front end GUI for those uninitiated in the use of RSync, who wish to begin trying it — GRSync — I suppose the G is for ‘graphical’.
